Overview of Coursework for
       Anatomic Pathology Residents

  • The Diagnostic Center for Population and Animal Health (DCPAH) covers tuition for a maximum of 3 credits per Fall and 3 credits per Spring semesters for each year of the program.  With proper scheduling, these credits should cover the cost of the mandatory courses.  Tuition during Summer semester is not covered.  Course credits in excess of 3 per Spring and 3 per Fall semesters are paid by the resident, either from discretionary funds or out-of-pocket.

  • All major pathology courses are on a 2-year repetitive cycle.

  • Bolded courses in the table below are mandatory for all residents.

  • Attendance at departmental seminars (PDI892 Research Seminar and PDI893 Case Based Seminar) is mandatory on a continual basis.  However, every resident must take PDI893 seminar at least once annually for 1 credit each year in residence at MSU.  Each resident must also take PDI892 for 1 credit at least twice during their residency.
